5 Reasons Why People Are Moving To Mount Airy

5 Top Reasons Why People Are Moving to Mount Airy:
1. Green and Clean
What can be better than the vibrant feel of city living yet your street is surrounded by mature trees,  blooming flowers and many interesting plants.  Feel the need to hike, jog, horseback ride or just enjoy  nature?  Neighboring Wissahickon Park offers it all.  In fact, Forbidden Drive in Wissahickon Park was named the 2018 “Trail of the Year”.

2. Restaurants
Take a stroll down Germantown Ave. and you have so many choices.  In the mood for Mexican, Indian, Soul Food, Italian, Chinese or Irish pub food?  It’s all there so take your pick. Mount Airy is well  known for its diversity and this is evident from the variety of restaurants in close proximity.

3. Community Spirit
Neighbors will quickly greet you and are proud of their neighborhood. Need a book to read? Mini libraries are provided by neighbors.  Drop off a book and pick out a book without going much further than your door step.  How about strolling down Germantown Ave. any Wednesday from late Aug. til mid Oct. to enjoy “Supper Sessions”, a great outdoor venue to sample food and drink, listen to music from local artists and visit the local art vendors.  Every great town should have a co-op, as does Mount Airy with Weavers Way for local, organic and natural foods.

 4.  More house for the $$.
Mount Airy homeowners have more square footage and ample yard space in comparison with other Philadelphia  neighborhoods.

5.  Transportation
Work in the city or the suburbs?  No problem.  Mount Airy has two rail lines and ample bus transportation.  If you take the train from the local station, be sure to grab a great cup of coffee, danish or breakfast crepe at High Point Cafe before boarding the train.

Mount Airy first began as a place for Philadelphians to get away from it all and more than a century later you still get that feeling.
