Beer Gardens Improve Neighborhoods

Beer Gardens Improve Neighborhoods

There's something unique about the Philly Beer Scene and it's impact on neighborhoods. Philadelphia, over the past 5 or so years, has welcomed Spring, Summer and Fall with a plethora of pop-up beer gardens that signal the arrival of any given place. In previous years, beer gardens have popped up in Point Breeze and Spruce Street Harbor Park along the Delaware. This year two are prominently positioned to help improve the housing market around them. Both are in the blistering hot 19125.

This weekend Evil Genius Brewing opened their Fishtown garden next to their future home on the 1700 Block of North Front Street under the El. While this is not the only commercial enterprise this far north, it does signal the expansion of the commercial corridor beyond the intersection of Front and Girard. It also will help to enliven a block that has seen its fair share of developer speculation but has yet to see the homes and shops be built as a result of that initial investment. If you're looking to invest in this part of the neighborhood, why not set up a showing for our listing across the street on the 1700 Block of Hope Street.

If the southern part of the neighborhood isn't quite your speed, the Kensington Co Op is opening Kensington Gardens this weekend! This beer garden is being built at the future home of the CoOp's market at Frankford and Lehigh. And when you fall in love with the Garden, why not consider buying a great new construction home built by the esteemed architect/builders CallahanWard? They just completed two great homes on Cumberland Street that provide beautiful space with room to breath. Oh, and did I mention a skyline view?
