Center City Just Got A Little Greener

PHS Farm for the City

Looking to improve your green thumb and keep your garden alive through the heat of the summer? Check out PHS Farm for the City exhibit located at 1402 JFK Blvd in Center City.  The working farm opened to the public last week and will host activities, free workshops and events throughout the summer and growing season.

Visit the urban farm and chat with actual farmers to learn more about community gardening and how to grow and harvest plants in your own home garden. Become a Friend of the Gardens to support the community garden and increase awareness about food insecurity in Philadelphia.

The farm is supported by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage to raise awareness to the positive impact community gardens have on neighborhoods. In addition to creating a great outdoor exhibit space, Farm for the City will be producing about 1,000 pounds of fruits and veggies to donate to Broad Street Ministry's Hospitality Collaborative.

The farm is open Monday - Friday (8AM - 8PM) and Saturday - Sunday (10AM - 6PM)
