Check Out These Rainy Day Smore Recipes That Will Change Your Life

It's raining it's s'more'ing! These rainy day s'more ideas will change the way you view these tasty outdoor treats. The kids will LOVE it and you can put your diet on the back burner for the molten, aromatic pleasures of this childhood treat right? Dust off the DVD player, get the trinity of s'more ingredients ready (marshmallows, milk chocolate and graham crackers) and turn the oven up to 400'ish degrees. It's time to get busy!

Cast Iron Skillet S'more Dip

This is one of those recipes that’s so brainless, I hardly feel justified calling it a recipe. Simply toss a bag of milk chocolate chips in a cast iron skillet or oven-safe dish. Top with jumbo marshmallows. Bake for 5 or so minutes (or until the tops of your marshmallows are golden brown) in a 425 degree oven, pull out the graham crackers for dipping, and voilà! Dippable s’mores that will have your gang scraping the skillet for every last smudge of chocolate and streak of marshmallow.

Open Faced S'mores In the Broiler

Good News (at least for me)!! No baking skills required for these s'more cookies! Turn on the broiler and allow the oven to get really hot, break the graham crackers in half and place on a baking sheet, place a piece of milk chocolate on top of each graham cracker, top with a marshmallow and sprinkle with cinnamon, place the baking sheet of s'mores under the broiler. Watch closely and remove once marshmallows melt and toast up — they will burn quickly if you aren't careful! No fire pit required and you won't have to swat away the mosquitoes while enjoying these heavenly morsels.

Marshmallow S'mores Pops

These treats can be enjoyed with or without toasting the main character, i.e. the marshmallow! Place graham crackers in a resealable plastic bag and seal, crush with a rolling pin until they are fine crumbs with a few small chunks, melt milk chocolate in a double broiler on the stove, place marshmallows on a skewer, dip in the chocolate and then roll in the crushed graham crackers. This recipe is a great project to do with kids of ALL ages. Hey, who doesn't love the sweet, savory goodness of a s'more!

With recipes like these you won't mind a rainy day or two in the up and coming dog days of summer. Enjoy and you're welcome!
