Dec 2 2015 Grand Opening Fishtown PSPCA

Looking for a good reason to come explore Fishtown? We got it!

Pennsylvania SPCA Fishtown Center hosts Grand Opening Event for families and animal lovers, Saturday, December 5.

This should be a great all day family event. From 12-2 families can visit the center at 1546 Frankford Avenue and participate in an educational scavenger hunt focused on how animals see the world. There will be interactive activities, craft making, treat making and ultimately prizes given. Local restaurants such as Little Baby's Ice Cream, Rustica, Center City Pretzels will donate food and drink to add to the fun.

At 2pm the grown up fun begins with quizzo! Topics include: animals, the neighborhood, music and much more. You can register your team of 4 or more at PSPCA’s website. Donations of $5 per teammate are suggested.

And finally as an extra bonus the PSPCA will host  a Parents Night Out on Saturday, December 19. Parents who need a night out alone, or need to holiday shop, can drop their kids off at the Fishtown Center for a night full of animal-themed fun and festivities. For more information, visit:

“The Pennsylvania SPCA is the oldest animal welfare organization in the state of Pennsylvania, and we recognize just how important young people are to the future success of animal welfare,” said Jerry Buckley, PSPCA CEO. “Attracting the young and vibrant residents of Fishtown and beyond will allow us to further our mission of protecting more animals, preventing cruelty and improving the health and quality of life for animals in our region.”
